Tena koutou katoa.
I would like to acknowledge the Minister of Justice the Hon Amy Adams, the Police Commissioner Mike Bush, the CEO of Victim’s Support Kevin Tso, Victim Support Dame Malvina Major, other dignitaries, Victim Support workers and supporters here tonight.
Congratulations to Victim Support on your 30 years of service to victims, their loved ones, family, whanau, hapu, iwi and communities throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand.
As the Chief Victims Advisor to Government I would like to thank you for choosing this role as one of the four kaitiaki guarding the rights and voices of victims of crime.
My role contributes as an independent voice, assisting government to keep victims at the heart of our justice system. Our kaupapa is aligned with yours. We are honoured to hold this taonga and the wairua within it.
Kia ora tatou. Ma te wa.
